"Honoring the lives and memories of those we love."

Lawrence Edward Wynne
Lawrence Edward Wynne, 80, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He was born on July 9, 1945, in Trenton, Missouri, to Howard Olen Wynne and Georgia Claribel Lawrence Wynne. The youngest of 5 sons, he picked up the nickname “Babe” early in his childhood. He grew up on the family farm near Brimson, Missouri, attended Brimson Baptist Church, and graduated from Trenton High School in 1963. Shortly afterwards he started a family and owned a farm near Jamesport, Missouri where he also balanced a job as a Brakeman for the Rock Island Railroad. In 1981, the family moved to Wichita Falls where he joined his brother’s company, Wynne Communications, building cable TV and telecommunications infrastructure in Wichita Falls and surrounding areas. He later started his own business and also worked for the City of Wichita Falls.
He was a fierce competitor all his life, playing baseball and basketball through high school, and later fast-pitch softball both in Missouri and Texas. He loved golf and could often be found at River Creek Golf Course playing in “The Big Group” on the weekends. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, and baseball trivia enthusiast.
Lawrence is survived by his four children: Lynda Moore (Dan), David (Debra), Lee (Cindy), and Eric (Kim), all of the greater Texoma area. He also leaves 11 grandchildren: Josh, Drew, Devin (Ben), Brendan, Trenton, Sadie (Darin) (with great grandchildren Elin, Emily, and Killian), Sarah (Justin), Bethany (Abdulhamid), Caroline, Katie Gail, and Hank. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Beverly Swank Wynne, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ray Olen, Archie Wayne, John Benjamin, and Larry Gene. Lawrence will be interred at the Willis Chapel Cemetery in Brimson, Missouri at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls. We wish to express our gratitude to the staff at Hospice and Senior Care of Wichita Falls for the exceptional care and compassionate support provided during these final months.
