"Honoring the lives and memories of those we love."

James Edward “Ed” Cameron
James Edward “Ed” Cameron passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 10, 2026, with Linda, his beloved wife of 64 years, by his side.
James was born in Lonaconing, Maryland, to the late Robert and Margaret (Jones) Cameron. Ed grew up in the coal-mining town of Cumberland. In his youth, he enjoyed exploring the rugged beauty of the Allegheny Mountains surrounding Cumberland with his older brother, Bob.
Following graduation in 1957, Ed enlisted in the United States Air Force. While stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, Ed met the love of his life, Linda, while "cruising the lot" at P3—the iconic local hangout for young people.
The couple married on October 20, 1961, and established their roots in Wichita Falls.
Many miles from his family, Ed was warmly welcomed by Linda’s parents Karl and Elsa Keener and her siblings and their extended families.
Though Ed was medically discharged from the Air Force in 1962 following a brain aneurysm, he continued to serve his community through his work. After taking courses at Midwestern State University and Draughon’s Business College, he dedicated over 25 years to the United States Postal Service as a mail sorter and clerk, retiring in 1992.
Ed and Linda moved to Henrietta, Texas in 1982. In 1987, Ed committed his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He and Linda were involved in a variety of ministries and home groups over the years.
Ed enjoyed bird watching and had a beautiful collection of ceramic birds. He took great joy in wood carving and made his grandchildren several beautiful decorative nature-themed wall carvings. In his younger years he took pleasure in fishing at Lake Arrowhead and later in camping at Lake Murray and in East Texas with Linda.
Ed is survived by his Wife; Linda (Keener) Cameron of Henrietta, TX., Daughters; Karla (Jim) Baugh of Henrietta, TX, and Krista (Steve) Bovee of Churchville, NY
Grandchildren; Jason (Rachel) Baugh of Burleson, TX, Samantha Robertson of Wichita Falls, TX, Christopher Baugh of Lubbock, Texas, Daniel (Ericka) Bovee, Matthew (Abby) Bovee, Betsy Bovee, Tim (Natalie) Bovee, and Jon Bovee all of Rochester, NY and two great-grandsons.
