Tami Yonts

On January 17, 2026 at 5:15 A.M. Tami Yonts, 59, fell asleep from this earth and woke up in the arms of Jesus.  Memorial Service will be Friday, January 23, 2026 at 2PM in the chapel of Grace Church.

Tami was born September 20, 1966 in Abilene, TX to Paul and Diedra Kozma. She was a graduate of Rider High School class of 1985.  She met Mike in September of 1983, when her parents threw an employee appreciation party at their house where she really got to know Mike.  Although, she was wearing a Burger King uniform, he fell head over hills for her.  On their first date Mike took Tami to her little sister’s 4th grade play, and from that moment on they were never apart.  They got married February 16, 1985.  Together they raised two sons, Clay and Aaron Yonts.

Tami had the most beautiful smile and between her sense of humor and her vibrant personality she touched so many people in so many ways.  Tami was a person who Loved Hard and everyone around her felt her love.  People just wanted to be around her.  Being a waitress for 32 years at Pioneer on Maplewood, she became friends with so many people.  Some of those people would come to her home to drink coffee and pray with her.  In 2023 Tami was diagnosed with brain cancer where she fought a hard battle until the cancer spread and she had a talk with God and said, “I’m ready to go home”.

She is survived by her, husband; Mike Yonts, Sons; Clay (Sammy) Yonts, Aaron (Jamie) Yonts, grandchildren; Julian, Jeremiah, Josiah, Avery and Presley, father; Paul (Sylke) Kozma, mother; Deidre Burden, sister; Paula Koetter, brother; Tyler Kozma, brother in law; Dave (Sheri) Yonts, aunt; Nancy Harris, nieces and nephews; Chase (Katrina) Yonts, Austin (Julia) Yonts, Natalie (Stephen) Estabrook, Nathan Yonts, Justin (Kristine) Koetter, Dellen (Kaitlin) Koetter, Madeline Koetter.  As well as numerous great nieces and great nephews and a multitude of precious friends.
