In Loving Memory of Janet Faye Martinez
January 28,1954 – August 30,2026
Janet Faye Martinez was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was filled with love, laughter, strength, and memories that will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Janet was a true spitfire. She had a strong personality, a big heart, and a way of letting you know exactly what was on her mind. She loved her plants, especially ivy, her purses, beautiful ornaments, and her beloved dog, Puddy. She loved teaching Puddy tricks and spending time caring for the things and people she loved.
Janet had a special bond with her son Pedro. The two of them were truly two peas in a pod, and their connection was something special. She also shared a beautiful bond with her daughter Tonie. Their late-night talks gave Tonie a feeling of safety, comfort, and love that she will carry with her forever.
Janet was incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren. She knew how much Florence was like her—strong, independent, and determined. She often reminded Florence of that strength, and their bond was one that could never be replaced.
Janet also loved her son-in-law, Adrian Sr., because she saw the way he took care of Florence and their family. She appreciated the love, support, and protection he gave to her daughter and grandchildren.
One of the things Janet was especially proud of was her grandson, Adrian Jr., who joined the United States Navy. When Janet learned that he had joined, she was so proud that she cried and said she was glad he was “doing something important.” When Janet’s health declined, Florence worked hard to find a way for Adrian Jr. to get emergency leave from the Navy so he could come home and see his grandmother. He made the long trip from California and was able to be right there with Janet until the end. Knowing her grandson was beside her brought comfort to Janet and meant everything to the family.
Janet’s family was her greatest treasure. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she treasured the memories they made together. She also held a special place in her heart for her best friend, Alma Overstreet.
Janet will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her. Though her passing leaves an emptiness that can never truly be filled, her strength, her love, her laughter, and the memories she created will remain with her family forever.
Rest peacefully, Mom. You will always be loved, always remembered, and forever a part of us.
