In Loving Memory of Kimberly Sue Higgins
December 16, 1954 – September 22, 2026
Kimberly Sue Higgins passed away September 22, 2026, at her home in Texas. Kimberly was born on December 16, 1954, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to Norman and Ardis Pohlman. In 1958, Ardis moved with her three daughters—Lynda, Debra, and Kimberly—to California.
Kimberly attended Branham High School in San Jose where she met Bill Butler. They were married in 1971, together they raised three daughters, Stacy, Dawn, and Stephanie, and built their dream home in Loma Rica. Kimberly spent her days irrigating their olive orchard and watching her soap operas—especially Days of Our Lives. She also loved spending time on the boat, water skiing and taking her girls swimming at her sister Lynda’s. Holidays were very special and the family often traveled to San Jose for Christmas and Thanksgiving to gather between families until they lived closer.
Later in life, Kimberly married Scott Higgins, and they welcomed a son, Tyler. She continued ranch life for several more years. After being diagnosed with COPD, she traveled with Tyler to Texas to live with Dawn. She was as Tyler called her, his warrior until the end.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Pohlman and Ardis Dusseau; Bill Butler; and Scott Higgins. She is survived by her sisters, Lynda Coelho and Debra Powley; her children, Stacy (Larry) Clark, Dawn Ruiz, Stephanie (Thomas) Craddick, and Tyler Higgins; and many beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Kimberly was a wonderful daughter, mother, and sister, but being Nana brought her the greatest joy. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
A celebration of life will be held in Wichita Falls, Texas. A celebration in California will be held at a later date.
