Steve Guthrie, of Frederick, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

Steve wasn't much for long speeches. He was more of a send a meme and make you laugh kind of guy. If you were friends with him on Facebook, chances are he brightened your day with a dry joke, a sarcastic one-liner, or a meme describing the painful accuracy of aging with humor. He believed life was better when you could laugh through it, and that's how he'll be remembered.

Steve was born in Kansas City, MO to William F. Guthrie and Helen E. Gorman on Feb 24, 1956. He spent many years as a skilled clock repairman and proudly owned Arlington Clock Repair until retiring in 2022. He took great pride in his work, filling his home with an alarming, and anxiety-provoking, amount of ticking clocks.

On July 27, 2012, Steve married Sandra Herrera. She always had something to say, and Steve always had a comeback; it worked perfectly. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and lots of sarcasm. In their final years together, although they faced many trials, their faith in God and devotion to one another never waivered. In October of 2022, they relocated to Frederick, Oklahoma, embracing a new chapter, a lower cost of living, and a pace of life that suited them just fine.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Guthrie, one sister, Linda Carson, and a brother, William (Bill) Guthrie. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Guthrie, and three children, Brooke Meier, of Hot Springs, AR., Sara McBride of Mansfield, TX, and Michael Guthrie, of Mansfield, TX. Other surviving family members include his Stepson, Joseph Stewart, from Justin, TX, Stepdaughter, Regina Saldana of Edmond, OK., and Grandchildren, Nicole and Ethan Meier, Henry and Andrew Stewart, and Mariana Saldana.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Complete Hospice for the compassionate care and kindness they provided Steve during his final days.

Steve leaves behind laughter, stories, and countless lives made brighter because of him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. For those who knew Steve best, the gentle ticking of the clocks he so carefully restored was simply part of home. After his passing, Sandi quietly spoke the words that captured both his life's work and the depth of their love... "The ticking has stopped, my love."
