Thomas Lee Russell, 78, of Dean, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Dean at 10 AM, Monday, August 17, 2026. Funeral services will be held following at 11 AM at the church. Burial will follow in Dean Cemetery under the direction of Wichita Falls Embalming Service and Funeral Home.

Thomas was born December 19, 1947, to Chester Thomas and Ruby Lee (Boren) Russell. Thomas was a graduate of Rider High School and Midwestern State University. He was drafted and served his country in the US Army in the Vietnam War. He married Doris Jane Reese on December 31, 1976, in Dean, TX. Thomas worked several jobs from farming to banking and finally settled for a long career as a locksmith for Reese Builders Supply. Later became Tex-Oma Builders Supply where he retired in 2015. He was very active in his later years in the Veterans’ group.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Russell; 2 sons, Kelly Russell and wife Renee, Michael Russell and wife Brandy; grandchildren, Caden Russell, Carter Russell, Layne Russell, and Lillie Russell; brother Bobby Russell and wife Teddy; 2 nieces and numerous friends. Everywhere he went he never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents Chester and Ruby Russell.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to either The First Baptist Church of Dean or the Dean Dale Volunteer Fire Department.
