In Loving Memory of Phillip Brian Holt
September 22, 1958 – June 29, 2026
Following a lengthy battle with cancer, it is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Phillip Brian Holt, age 67, who passed away on June 29, 2026, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Brian was born on September 22, 1958, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Levi J. Holt and Rosemary Holt. He grew up in Wichita Falls surrounded by lots of family and graduated from S.H. Rider High School in 1976. After high school, Brian joined the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Oceanside, California. He later returned home to Wichita Falls, where he lived a full life.
Brian worked in the auto parts industry for many years, including with United Electric, Carquest, and Chief Auto Parts. He loved working on cars and spent time helping at his uncle’s garage. Over the past 40-plus years, Brian truly lived life to the fullest. He played on numerous softball teams with friends and coworkers, even making it to the finals. Later in life, he enjoyed traveling and visited Florida, Las Vegas, the Philippines, and China.
Brian loved spending time outdoors, family get togethers at Lake Nocona and especially fishing with his son and grandsons. He also enjoyed driving RC cars with his son. He was a great dad to his children and an amazing PawPaw to his grandsons. Brian was also as stubborn as he could be, all the way until the end — a quality that those who loved him knew well.
Brian is survived by his loving children, Crystal Russell and husband Tony of Wichita Falls, and Brian (Mikey) Holt of Wichita Falls; his grandchildren, Ernest Russell and wife Aubrey of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Michael Holt of Oklahoma, and Cameron Holt, Jayden Holt, and Jase Holt, all of Wichita Falls; and his great-granddaughter, Sadie Russell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He is also survived by Joy Vance, whom he married on March 10, 1978. Though they later divorced in February 1999, they remained close friends throughout the years, and Joy faithfully stood by him through his chemotherapy treatments, surgery and numerous doctor’s appointments over the past three years.
Brian is also survived by his brothers, Steve Holt and wife Lea of Runaway Bay, Texas, Rodney Holt and wife Kathy of Destin, Florida, and Jeff Holt and wife Cecilia of Argyle, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
In addition to his own family, he was also blessed with the enduring love of the Vance family, who lovingly accepted him as one of their own and shared more than four decades of cherished memories together. They remained a constant source of love, laughter, and support throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi J. and Rosemary Holt; his paternal grandparents, Levi C. and Lora Doris Holt; and his maternal grandparents, Chester and Katherine McKee, nephew Travis Holt, cousins Terry Holt and Arthur Pasa and numerous aunts and uncles.
Cremation is under the direction of Wichita Falls Embalming Service and Cremations of the Wichitas. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
"Family isn't always defined by blood, but by the love we choose to give one another."
